I really appreciate this video. New subscriber. Also, I’ve favoured a double uni knot for braid to mono/flouro for its pretty tight profile. Tried the triple surgeon’s on your advice and, wow, it is a tiny and strong knot. I’m a covert (I fish from a kayak mostly so quick and easy is the name of the game).

I used to do this method but a 3g sinker and the hook tied straight to the mainline with no snood or a very short single snood. Fluorocarbon i find better than mono as my leader since i use braid.

I assume these are hatchery trout not wild , in that case it would be interesting to see how wild Rainbow or Cutthroat Trout react to the power bait

I found that if I just let it sit there, they will peck the bait to death. BUT if I slowly move my rod to the left, then to the right…They have to commit to biting it, and I catch way more than others who just let it sit there.

Went fishing last week for sunfish and I think I found their new favorite bait. The bait I tried using was a banana because I left some bread at home and they were eating the banana so fast I was getting fish every cast right when it touched the water.

Good at feeding them but not catching them 🤣

A lot of it has to do with light and water clarity, plus time of day. If the sun is super bright purple works great. If the water is clear pink. If the water is murky or dark chartreuse works great. Generally chartreuse is thr most universal attention grabber for trout.

Drop shot is not a good method for trout. Use a slip sinker with a floating bait. You’ll get more hook ups.

bro the colored ball thing works i knew a guy that would buy skittles, eat half the bag and fish with the rest. they dont hold their color as long as they used to, no idea if it still works. (but probably since they turn white?)
